Foreseen is a transcendent artist duo, formed by visual artist and researcher Pat Wingshan Wong (aka Flyingpig) , and vsiualartist and technologist Kachi Chan. Unified by their geographical roots in London and Hong Kong, and their academic background at the Royal College of Art, they infuse a non-allegiant approach to medium, unifying art, technology, and society within their craft. Since its formation in 2019, Foreseen Agency have made their mark, cultivating a rich tapestry of diverse and award-winning work inspired by the principles of democracy and collaboration, executed across varying scales and platforms.

Their artistic enquiry intrinsically challenges the narratives of gentrification, democracy, urbanisation, and decolonisation. In 2019, their seminal project, Barter Archive, explored barter economics and served as a collaborative platform for the fishmongers at the globally-renowned Billingsgate Market in London, which faced a possible relocation due to urban gentrification. The project, supported and esteemed by Art Council England, took form in two exhibitions, a performative auction, and a digital archive, garnering international media and academic attention.

In 2020, the duo expanded their creative practice with Sisyphus, their first robotic art installation. This award-winning piece depicted an endless cyclic interaction between two robots, symbolizing the ongoing tension between systems, be it natural, artificial or societal. Sisyphus offers a commentary on contemporary social dynamics. The project exemplify their commitment to engaging with significant contemporary themes through art and technology.

Their latest venture, Foreseen Property Agency, invoked a revolutionary adoption of advanced technologies and ‘marketing’ strategies to archive the slow extinction of Hong Kong’s traditional local businesses in the wake of progressive gentrification. The ambitious project combines digital archiving, NeRF space modelling, interactive marketing strategies, and public workshops. It aims to cultivate communal engagement and ensure the preservation and recognition of traditional businesses. The innovative approach of Foreseen Agency earned considerable attention from the artistic community, business professionals, and media alike.

The distinctive work of Foreseen Agency has been awarded and showcased by prominent organisations like the Prix Ars Electronica (Digital Community – Honorary Mention), Art Council England, Hong Kong Art Development Council, Design Trust, Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL (Bartlett Medal) and OPPO (OPPO Renovators Creativity Award). Their profound influence is reflected in their appearances in Museum of London, Tai Kwun – Centre for Heritage and Arts, Asia Art Archive, and international publications including The Guardian, The Londonist, Condé Nast, Ars Electronica, ISEA, London Design Festival, the Royal College of Art, and RTHK.
